Several Bosniak NGO request that part of the territory of Serbia and Montenegro form a special cross-border region, and thousands of people signed in only a few hours, a petition from the governments of these countries asking for permission to form this, as they say economic Sandzak region!
Behind these petitions there is a group of Bosniak non-governmental organizations, and according to their idea, the region would include the cities of Novi Pazar, Tutin, Nova Varos, Priboj, Prijepolje, Sjenica, Rozaje, Pljevlja, Bijelo Polje, Berane and Plav!
Political analyst Branko Radun says for "Nase Novine" that this is a hypocritical initiative because they are Bosniaks supported by
the separation of Montenegro from Serbia, and therefore the separation in these two countries.
- I think this is not just about economic cooperation, but that someone is trying to gain points in the parameters of the Bosniak political body - he says.
One of the initiators of this project Zaim Čelebić says for the portal Rožaje free press that the formation of this region would contribute to creating a favorable business environment and would open the possibility of direct application to EU funds.
