THERE IS HOPE FOR THE FUTURE OF THE BALKANS: You will get goosebumps when you see what a Serb, Albanian, Croat and Bosniak did together!

Young, future diplomats from Albania, Croatian, Serbian and Bosnia, agree that the bloody clashes in this region can not be forgetten, but must be forgiven because otherwise a small step to thoughts of revenge will lead to a rebellion

Inseveral years, the Balkans, a place of eternal conflicts and wars, can easily become an oasis of peace, but it all depends on the future young diplomats from the region. For young Albanians, Croats, Macedonians, Bosniaks and Serbs, the participants of the international seminar of the Centre for International Cooperation and Sustainable Development (CIRSD), the recent wars are dangerous ways of the past that they do not wish to pave their ways of the future.

For those who are now working, they claim they do not understand the contemporary geopolitical and international relations and that such a policy is further fueled by centuries of national antagonism.

Bureau: No indications conflicts will spill over to Serbia

Of course, the bloody clashes can not be forgotten, but must be forgiven because otherwise a small step to thoughts of revenge will lead to a rebellion, which will lead to repeated suffering of people from the Balkans.

Bosniak Alaudina Boskailo, an attorney from Tuzla, does not think this way and says that she and her 34 colleagues are not poisoned in spirit due to past conflicts.

Why is Western media silent about the attacks in Macedonia? Nobody mentions that the war was initiated by SHQIPTAR terrorists!

- The past of our people is part of history, we are of course talking about it, but we are entering into a dialogue with facts, not emotions. You can not live form the past, we perceive the present that binds us and look to the future - says Boškailo.

She adds that Belgrade is a good place to define positive ideas.

- Belgrade is a metropolis. The people are with an open heart and soul, and  do not care who you are and what you are. I am delighted with the hospitality, but also the vibrant night life - says Boškailo, which is in Belgrade for the first time.

In contrast, Albanian Laba Brojka from Tirana, who is studying international relations, is in the Serbian capital for the second time. Her first visit was during the drone incident.

The situation is worse: Albania and Kosovo openly threaten Macedonia

- The irony is that I was here for the first time when the drone incident occurred during the football match Serbia - Albania. However, besides politicians saying that my people and Serbs were in antagonism for centuries, my welcome in Serbia both times was friendly and made me feel safe. We young people first see what a man is about rather than look at him like a Serb or Albanian. Of course, everywhere there are extremists, but we shouldn't generalize - says Brojka.

And Croat Edo Katanić, who completed his undergraduate studies in international politics in Graz, has a similar view.

Third Balkan War in the making: Serbs, Greeks, Bulgarians and Macedonians to unite against the "Greater Albania"?

- These are young people who are learning to make our common future better. I am moderately optimistic that this is possible in these areas, with regards to the youth not the populist politicians - says Katanić.

Serb Milan Krstic, who is enrolled in doctoral studies at the Faculty of Political Sciences shares the same opinion with Katanic.

- The people who are here are not affected by the hard-times of the past, but the future. I am a proud participant in this seminar, but I am proud of my town, which showed my colleagues great cosmopolitan breadth - claims Krstic.

The seminar titled "Geopolitics in the era of multipolarity," brought together 35 young professionals from the region and lecturers were experienced international policy makers, intellectuals, professors from various world universities. Among them were Luis Amado, Wolfram Mas, Ralf Langner, Luis Almagro, Vuk Jeremic and many others.
