Vulin - the third foreigner who was declared Persona non grata in Croatia

The state can declare diplomats of other states as a persona non grata, foreign politicians, as well as foreigners of various professions for which the current government and regimes in power have assessed that they have violated the state's reputation in some case or are dangerous and harmful to it or its regime

Serbian Minister of Defense Aleksandar Vulin is the third foreigner in the last 27 years, declared by Croatia as a persona non-grata, who was not an accredited diplomat in Croatia.

The Serbian Ambassador to Zagreb refused to accept a protest note from Croatia because of Seselj's behavior

Croatia has also declared Carl Bildt and Vojislav Seselj as persons who are not desirable in those 27 years.

The first person who was not an accredited diplomat in Croatia and the authorities declared him an undesirable person, was Swedish politician Carl Bildt, Jutarnji list writes.

The state can declare diplomats of other states as a persona non grata, foreign politicians, as well as foreigners of various professions for which the current government and regimes in power have assessed that they have violated the state's reputation in some case or are dangerous and harmful to it or its regime.

Vulin was declared unwanted by the Croatian government, as recalled by the Croatian paper, after his statements that only the Supreme Commander of the Serbian military, Aleksandar Vucic, can make a decision about his arrival to Croatia for the commemoration to the victims of Jasenovac, and not the Croatian Ministers, or precisely, because of the alleged disregard of Croatian institutions and laws.

Bildt, at the time when he was declared undesirable in Croatia, was in a high international position - EU mediator for the former Yugoslavia.

That sharpest diplomatic measure of the official Zagreb was provoked by Bildt's comment after the Operation Storm, that Croatian president Franjo Tudjman was responsible for war crimes against the Serbian citizens in the Stop in the same way as Mile Martic who was responsible for war crimes against Croats.

About 20 years later, in March 2016, the government of Tihomir Oreskovic declared Vojislav Seselj, the leader of Serbian Radical Party, a persona non grata.

The reason for this was Seselj's statement published right after the first instance verdict which freed him from the responsibility for the war crimes

- My dear Kolinda, prepare, prepare, I am soon coming to an official visit - Seselj published on social networks, stated Jutarnji List.
