American monk Sophronios lives in a Serbian monastery in Kosovo: Albanians charged him with drug smuggling, and when he showed them this, they all backed off (PHOTO)

And while he was giving his statement in America, they sent him the messages from the monastery and informed him that some Albanians are driving their cars next to the church and they play loud music

Sophronios is an American monk living in a small monastery in Kosovo. He went to America and he told everything about his monastery, and about the situation in the southern Serbian province. He said that the pressure on Serbs is huge and that provocations from the Muslim citizens are increasing.

Kosovo will agree to reconcile with Serbia in exchange for recognition: Haradinaj is provoking, Vulin expressly answered

- I think that it mostly comes from displeased Albanian citizens. When they freed themselves from Serbs, their land is now poorer than before. Because of that, they are becoming even greater nationalists - the monk Sophronios said for "Orthochristian".

As he said, politics is involved in everything, but he doesn't want to get into that. He recently experienced unpleasant scene when he went to the store with another monk.

- When I got out of the store, the police officers shouted at the monk who was with me. They were shouting in Albanian language, so I talked to them in the same way. I asked what was the problem, so they started yelling at me: "Do you have drugs in the bag? Do you have guns? Do you sell drugs and weapon? When I told them that I don't they immediately asked for my documents. They wanted to send us to the station. When I took out my American passport they told me: "We are sorry. Everything is alright, you can go" - the monk said.

He stressed that it was just another provocation, because if they suspected that he deals drugs, why would they leave him be when he showed the American passport? Later on, they harassed the other monk because he was a Serb. He managed to explain that he doesn't understand them, so they let them go after some time.

- People in the shop shouted a few months ago: "Kill the Serb!" What is more terrible is that nobody reacted, no one was worried. I was summoned for that trial, but the accused didn't come. According to the Kosovo law, you have to have a Serbian interpreter, and the court allegedly couldn't find one, although they had months to prepare. These examples are proof how well the Kosovo justice system works - the monk added.

And while he was giving his statement in America, they sent him the messages from the monastery and informed him that some Albanians are driving their cars next to the church and they play loud music.

The monk hopes that the American people will realize what is the life of Christians in the parts dominated by Muslims.

- You can persecute us, take away our jobs and land, kill people, but in the end, we are Christians. We are not scared because we have hope in Christ, we have joy and all the treasures. We live in very difficult conditions in which we are persecuted, but we are not defeated - said the monk Sophronios.
