It is suspected that drugs were dropped by smugglers from Albania, who, as they suspect, are smuggling narcotics to Italy every day by the sea.
As the media find out, little packages were noticed in the sea by fishermen who fish tuna and then informed the members of the border police, who found a terrible sight at the open sea, and they informed the prosecutor's office.
The most of the packages with drugs were dragged to the Albanian territory by the current, and the investigation is still ongoing.
Borba published yesterday that three Albanian citizens were arrested recently who escaped Italian police thanks to the fast boat, which they used to smuggle drugs over the sea.
As they unofficially found out, the drugs were packed in smaller packages, and when they take everything out of the see, they will know precisely the amount of it. Besides packages, there were no signs that would lead to the suspects who smuggled this drugs.
- By patrolling the terrain, the sea, at the border of Montenegro and Albania, with the report of some fishermen, something unusual was found in the water. When we approached, we saw hundreds of packages in the water, and when we opened one we saw that those were narcotic. It is unknown how much drugs there is, but it is presumed that there are between one and one and a half tons - said the source.
Almost the same amount of drugs was seized last year in May, also near Ulcinj at the sea, but two people were arrested.
