Trump shocked Serbs twice in the same day: He is definitely shutting down our hopes with this moves

The election of trump and arrival of new american administration into White House was awaited in Serbian public with great expectation, hoping that there will be some changes regarding Kosovo. However, moves performed by 45th american president and his closest associates point out that Serbian hopes will burst like a soap bubble. In the same day Trump and his associates have shocked Serbia.

The first shock arrives from United nationsinstitution where Serbia representatives are furiously struggling to prevent form recognizing Kosovo state.

New ambassador of United States of America in the United Nations Nikki Haley said that Kosovo "deserves to be a full member of the UN". 

 

- USA believes that the international community should acknowledge that Kosovo has made great strides since independence. Kosovo deserves to take its rightful place in the international community, including the full membership of the UN - said Haley, quoted Pristina Koha.

Addressing the UN, Haley said that Kosovo needs to do much more to strengthen the rule of law.

 

Immediately after this another shock followed. President of the Assembly of Kosovo Kadri Veseli announced on his Facebook profile that he had a meeting in Washington with the President of the United States, Donald Trump.

 

- I got a confirmation that USA will continue to support Kosovo, this is a eternal alliance - he wrote.

 

He also published a joint photo.

 

 

For the public in Serbia, which expected the attitude of Trump administration in relation to Kosovo with great hope, these moves represent a disappointmentAs the previous administration of Barack Obama had more than a benevolent attitude towards the interim authorities in Pristina, such statements represent a continuation of the American policy towards this part of Europe.
