Russian "Gazprom" decided: The "Turkish stream" will definitely go through Serbia, we will have cheaper gas in 2020

This is actually the "South Stream" that the European Union suspended in 2014 under the pressure of the United States

Russian company "Gazprom" has decided that the pipeline "Turkish Stream" will continue its route through Bulgaria, Serbia, Hungary, and Slovakia. All of the procedures have been completed in those countries, reported the Russian newspaper "Kommersant".

It is said that the first gas deliveries to Bulgaria and Serbia will begin in 2020, and the Russian gas will arrive at Hungary a year later, which will enable the company to stop delivering gas over Ukraine.

"Kommersant" points out that the "Southern Stream" is actually the same one that European Union suspended in 2014 under the pressure of the United States.

It is estimated that it will be more difficult to influence stopping the project because "Gazprom" completely respects the laws of the European Union.

Although Greece also plans on joining the pipeline, Kommersant estimates that it is still not clear what will that look like.

It is presumed that Greece will connect to it over Bulgaria, or that they will replace the gas from Azerbaijan with the gas from Russia when the construction of "TAP" is completed in 2020.
