This was the coldest city in Serbia: An unusual phenomenon happened in the sky, everything was frozen in one moment and the plain became Serbian Siberia

The snow + clearing - wind = freezing

Novi Sad was the coldest city in the country last night: with -16 degrees it was even colder than Sjenica (-12), Kopaonik (-11), and Crni Vrh (-7). At the same time, people in Negotin were cozy at +1!

Croatian reporter amazed with Serbian capital: Belgrade is the only real metropolis of Balkans, and here's why

For residents of Novi Sad, even Subotica, Sombor, and Zrenjanin, this was a real ice shock. The feeling in Novi Sad at -16 was -21. Enough to keep you close to the radiator, heaters, stoves, and fireplaces.

What happened in Pannonia to deserve to get a name "Serbian Siberia"? The real one to blame for this ice slap in Vojvodina is the clearing of the skies. As the clouds cleared, the temperature dropped.

- That is normal when there is no wind, and there is snow, so the clearing of the skies happens. The forecast was -10 degrees, so this is some kind of a deviation, but those are local effects and they are possible - said the meteorologist Nedeljko Todorovic.

It was a really cold night in Belgrade as well, but with the temperature of -5 degrees, which is a lot higher than in Novi Sad or Zrenjanin.

The situation calmed early in the morning, so it was -8 in Novi Sad early this morning, and Sjenica was again the queen of winter with - 12. Only Negotin was at 0.

According to the meteorologist Todorovic, this phenomenon is not expected in the next several days since it will be cloudy. The snow will start to melt on Thursday.
