This young doctor's had enough; he's doing test for free that patients wait for months to have done

We pay for health insurance, and then they ask that we pay some more for certain examinations and tests. Because of this absurdity of Serbian healthcare, many patients are getting angry, and now one doctor has had enough.

A young doctor from the town of Bac, Zoran Novakovic (32), has set social networks "on fire" after announcing that he would do gratis Doppler ultrasound examination of blood vessel - that must otherwise be paid for and has a waiting list of two months on average - for anyone who needs it.

"Dear citizens of the Bac municipality, I am still here for you to do FREE Doppler ultrasound of blood vessels. Whoever needs it, I'm here, come in. Despite all the threats from individuals, I think that people who can't afford examinations have a right to receiving them for free, and that everyone should get help, that's what doctors are for. Of course, if you need it in other municipalities, feel free to call," he wrote on Facebook.

He didn't have time to answer Telegraf's questions this morning because, as he explained to us, he was in a hurry to perform a surgery. He only commented briefly.

"I'm a man from the people and always stand with the working class."

In the video footage, Zoran said that doctors are obliged to help people without any compensation, because they are already receiving their salaries.

"Those who want extra earnings are engaged in private business. I have always been in favor of helping people, especially those who are socially endangered. I'm here to be of help in any way I can, whether medically or emotionally, to be a shoulder to cry on. No one and nothing will stop me because I am in the service of people, of patients. Everyone has a right to free health care. Health is something that has no price and must be free," he concluded.
