As decided in a draw held in Stara Pazova, Red Star and Trepca, a football club from Kosovo, will play in the 1/16 finals of the Serbian Cup. And despite strong opposition from the occupied southern Serbian province, this match will be played, and in Belgrade.

According to the portal kosovo-online.com, and confirmed by FK Trepca, the match will be played on October 9 at the stadium of FK Cukaricki.

As stated, the match will be played on October 9, two weeks later than the scheduled Cup date because as Red Star will be playing a delayed Superliga match against Vozdovac.

It was originally planned for the Trepca vs. Red Star game to be played on September 25 in Zvecan, which caused a strong reaction from the so-called Football Association of Kosovo.

The Kosovo Football Federation subsequently called for a ban of the match in Zvecan and wrote to FIFA and UEFA, but also urged the local police and authorities not to issue entry permits.

Yesterday, the chairman of the Serbian Football Association (FSS) Competition Commission Miodrag Jankovic said that playing in Zvecan would cause organizational problems and that is why Trepca, the third league team from Kosovska Mitrovica, will play against Zvezda in Belgrade.
