The Higher Court in Belgeade has found that the legal requirements for the extradition of Jovan Vukotic to Montenegro, identified by Serbian security services as the leader of the Skaljari Clan, have been fulfilled.

The criminal pre-trial chamber of the Higher Court in Belgrade, at its session held on September 26, issued a decision declaring that the legal preconditions for the extradition of the defendant Jovan Vukotic to the judicial authorities of Montenegro had been met.

The extradition will take place for the purpose of conducting criminal proceedings before the Higher Court in Podgorica for the criminal offense of aggravated attempted murder and the criminal offense of illicit possession of weapons and explosives, the Belgrade court has announced.

The statement added that the decision can be appealed before the Belgrade Appellate Court.

He was subsequently expelled to Serbia, of which he is a citizen. He has been sentenced to 15 months in prison for using a false passport.
