Croats humiliated: Because they showed the Serbian flag, HRT promises Albanians 3 scandalous things

The Croatian Radio Television (HRT) has come under attack by Albanian and Croatian nationalists, as well as by Albanian representatives in Croatia, because they showed the Serbian flag instead of the flag of so-called Kosovo while reporting about the elections in Kosovo.

Some media outlets in Croatia characterized the act of HRT as an embarrassment, while a member of the country's assembly from the ranks of the Albanian minority, Ermina Lekaj Prljaskaj, as well as the ambassador of the so-called state of Kosovo, met with the leadership of the Croatian public broadcaster.

Namely, representatives of Albanians - if what Lekaj Prljaskaj writes is true - agreed with the HRT management to initiate disciplinary proceedings against the broadcaster's employees who showed the Serbian flag in the background, during a report about the elections in the southern Serbian province!

In addition to these poor people possibly losing their jobs, the meeting also decided the following:

1. The assembly member and the ambassador will be guests on a HRT program

2. A HRT crew will go to Kosovo and film a report there!

3. The only source for the situation in Kosovo - this is particularly incredible - must be "exclusively the Radio Television of Kosovo"!

HRT's scandalous promises to Albanian representatives

Albanian minority MP Ermina Lekaj Prljaskaj wrote on Facebook about what had been agreed during the meeting with the HRT leadership.

"Today, in the premises of HRT together with the ambassador of the Republic of Kosovo - HE Gezim Kasapolli, I held a working meeting with Director of HRT Mr. Kazimir Bacic, and with editors Kovac and Perisic. We demanded a public apology from HRT, which they promised to send to the embassy of the Republic of Kosovo, and to initiate disciplinary proceedings against three employees who 'inadvertently' made the error," wrote Lekaj Prljaskaj, adding:

"Furthermore, HRT will invite HE Gezima Kasapolli and myself as a Member of Parliament for the Albanian national minority, and one HRT crew will visit Kosovo and shoot a documentary-educational program about today's developed Kosovo. Also, we requested that RTK - a Kosovo television station, be the exclusive direct source of information regarding the situation in Kosovo. Namely, HRT and RTK have an agreement on cooperation, but that cooperation is not implemented enough in practice which is why such omissions happen," she wrote.

Based on this Facebook post, the Croatian website Index.hr described the promises made by the colleagues from HRT as scandalous.

"Apart from agreeing that the only source of information for the situation in Kosovo should be exclusively the Radio Television of Kosovo, the rest of what Lekaj Prljakaj stated doesn't have to be wrong in itself. But if it has really been agreed at the meeting between HRT leadership and her, and the Kosovo ambassador - outside of normal procedures, and especially if the Albanian minority MP and the ambassador are editorializing HRT's programming as suggested in the post - not only is it wrong but it's also scandalous," the website concludes.
