Croatia: Father offered his daughter (15) to friends: He took photos and sent them with one message

A father in his early 40s from a town in eastern Croatia was offering his 15-year-old daughter to friends and acquaintances. The girl is a child of divorced parents, and when she would spend time with her father on weekends, he would take photographs of her and store them on a computer. He then offered his daughter on the internet, but fortunately, it was reported in time.

He also sent text messages to a dozen shocked people. A picture of a girl appeared on their screens, with the message: "If you want her, we'll make a deal."

The police and the Municipal State Prosecutor's Office said they were working on the case, which has since been taken over by the District State Prosecutor's Office for Youth. As this is a sensitive case where the victim is a child, they did not wish to provide any details.

The man and the girl do not live in the same household. After the divorce of her parents, the girl stayed with her mother and visited her father on weekends and holidays. The father, a professor in a school, would use this time to photograph her. He kept the photos on a computer and sent them to acquaintances or people he thought might be interested.

Fortunately, no one responded positively, while one of the potential clients reported it to the police. As the 24 Sata portal learned unofficially, investigators have found enough photos and evidence on the computer to launch an investigation.

The law is pretty clear in this case. Whoever entices, recruits or encourages a child to participate in child pornography, or those who arrange or facilitate recording of it, will be punished by imprisonment for a term between one and eight years.

At the same time, those who, for the sake of profit or other benefits entice, recruit or encourage the provision of sexual services, or arrange or facilitate the provision of sexual services of a child, while aware or having to be aware that it was a child, will be punished by imprisonment lasting between one and ten years.
