The second round of talks between European Parliament envoys and representatives of parliamentary and non-parliamentary political parties will take place on November 14 and 15, Tanjug has learned.

The first round of inter-party dialogue in the Assembly took place on October 9 and 10, when EP member Knut Fleckenstein spoke with representatives of the parties in Belgrade.

Following those talks, the Serbian Parliament announced that the second round would focus on improving parliamentary dialogue, including issues such as amending the rules of procedure and further revising the electoral framework.

The summary of the conclusions of the first round states that participants are willing to continue taking part in the inter-party dialogue format to discuss progress as well as the expressed shortcomings and the improvements acheived when it comes to the conditions for holding the elections.

The agenda of the first inter-party dialogue considered four core issues: recent proposals to improve the conditions for holding parliamentary elections, the media and the role of REM and RTS, campaign financing and voter education, that is, training, and transparency of the electoral roll.

The plan of David McAllister, chairman of the EP Foreign Affairs Committee, envisages a total of three inter-party dialogues to be held by the end of the year, which will exclusively address the election conditions for the 2020 parliamentary elections.
