The Senate of the University of Belgrade has upheld the decision of the Professional Ethics Committee which established tha there had been unacademic behavior during the preparation of Sinisa Mali's doctoral thesis, and annulled it.

32 Senate members present at the meeting voted in favor of the Ethics Committee's move, with no abstentions and no one seeking to further clarify the decision.

The decision of the Senate is final as far as the University is concerned, and the candidate may appeal to the Administrative Court, said University of Belgrade Rector Ivanka Popovic.

"I know what I know, I know that I did not do that - while that this topic is meaningful to somebody for political reasons, I cannot even comment on that," Mali told Tanjug on November 21 when the Committee unanimously determined the presence of unacademic behavior during the preparation of Sinisa Mali's doctoral thesis.
