Members of the Interior Ministry in Belgrade have filed criminal charges against D. M. (41) on suspicion that he killed Jovica Radonjic (35) in April 2015. D.M is suspected of firing several shots at Radonjic in Zvezdara, Belgrade, in front of a building where the victim lived. He died of his injuries. The suspect is already incarcerated for other crimes.

Jovica Radonjic was riddled with bullets in April 2015 in Zvezdara, in Ante Bogicevica Street, in front of his apartment building, with security cameras captured the killer.

The unknown assailant sprayed Radonjic with bullets, seriously injuring another man, Milos M. According to eyewitness accounts of this crime, Radonjic and Milos drove in front of the building where the victim ad his girlfriend lived in a black SUV. When they got out of the vehicle, a younger man, who was wearing a hood, started shooting at them.

"I heard at least nine shots. My friend thought the kids were throwing firecrackers. However, it soon turned out to be have been a shooting. As we learned later from some neighbors, one man was killed and another was left waiting for an ambulance with bloodied legs," one of the residents in the surrounding buildings told the daily Kurir at the time.

"I was sitting in my apartment with my maid of honor watching video surveillance. At that moment, I saw my husband approach the apartment with the driver. He was returning from his his hometown Kula. He got out of the car and then a young man approached him. I thought he was a neighbor, but he pulled out a gun and fired at Jovica and then at Milos. I ran outside and called an ambulance. In November, he had been abducted. This is what I've lived to see, to be lighting a candle for my husband after a year and a half," Radonjic's wife said after the crime.

Before he was killed, he also spoke with his father and his best man (on the phone), who heard Jovica's last words: "What is it, what are you looking at," and then the shots.

Radonjic was shot in the chest and died on the spot, while Milos M. was injured and taken to the VMA.

Radonjic and Milos M. were already known to the police for a number of crimes, including drug trafficking, while some media linked Radonjic with the Novi Sad crime group "Firma" led by Miladin Suvajdzic, aka Djura Mutavi, who used to traffic drugs in the province of Vojvodina for the Zemun Clan, and is currently a collaborating witness in the trials of the Zemun Clan and the Firma group.

The Firma group are rivals of the so-called "Veteran clan" led by Nenad Opacic, who was killed in February 2015. Radonjic was also suspected of killing of a member of the "Bokseri" ("boxers") group Ugljesa Ljubojevic in February 2003. Ljubojevic was a member of Opacic's group. However, Radonjic was never charged.

Radonjic was once again in the spotlight in December 2014 when he and five other men got arrested in the Muzeum cafe in downtown Belgrade on suspicion of dealing in narcotics, and on that occasion, they were found to be carrying weapons.
