Party in Belgrade streets in midst of coronavirus crisis: Money thrown at trumpeters, drums thunder

People came to their windows, throwing money at the musicians, singing, but also had musical requests

In the midst of the coronavirus epidemic in the Belgrade settlement of Brace Jerkovic, trumpet sounds were heard toda and citizens had the opportunity to listen to live music from their windows, but also order a song.

Two guys with a trumpet and one with a drum went from building to building as people came to their windows, throwing money at the musicians, singing, but also had musical requests.

During the state of emergency when gatherings and celebrations are banned, musicians who have lost their main source of income figured out a way to entertain people and earn money, because as they themselves told us, they have to earn a living.

"We planned to make people happy a little bit, it's a crisis, to keep people from being sad... You have to earn a living, to work, you see what the situation's like. People tell us: 'Play', 'Bravo, guys...," trumpeter Igor Durmisevic told us.

The trumpeters wore gloves, while due to the nature of the instrument they did not wear masks - while the drummer did - but because of his instrument, he couldn't wear gloves.

Watch the guys play in Brace Jerkovic, and people's reaction to the music in the coronavirus era in the video on top of the page.
