In the last 24 hours, 4,113 people were tested in Serbia of which 89 were positive for coronavirus. Most of the new cases are workers in Leskovac-based Yura and in Vranje-based furniture factory Dodic. Of the 1,613 Yura workers tested, 34 are positive for the virus and have milder symptoms of the disease. In three days, 85 coronavirus cases have been detected in Vranje, 33 on Monday alone.

Vranje residents have been far more careful since yesterday, there is almost nobody in the street without a mask and gloves, and especially in closed spaces. That is the recommendation of the Crisis HQ, that no one should enter closed spaces without protective equipment.

Sladjan Stankovic, an epidemiologist at the Public Health Institute in Vranje, told RTS that the epidemiological situation in that city is still uncertain, but under control.

"During the day yesterday, samples were taken from 280 people, with 33 testing positive. Thus, the number decreased slightly compared to previous tests. We took 320 more samples that we will send for analysis today. There are three patients in one shoe factory, today we will test those two plants where the patients worked during the day. We performed extensive testing of other patients and their contacts. We tested all the workers from the factory Dodic, 55 of them were sick and we put all of them in hospital isolation, their contacts in home isolation. For now, we're under the impression that the population has become wiser," said Stankovic.

According to him, the capacity of the Covid hospital has almost been filled, because all those testing positive are hospitalized, in line with the law.

"There are several cases with mild pneumonia, these are moderately severe conditions, but these are mostly mild clinical pictures and asymptomatic cases, which are in a favorable health condition," Stankovic pointed out.

In other municipalities of the Pcinj District, the situation is much better, there are no newly registered cases.

Today, the Crisis HQ will meet in Vranje as well. The meeting starts at 10 am.
