The situation with coronavirus is under control, and the measures to prevent the spread of the virus have produced good results, Minister of Health Zlatibor Loncar has told Radio Belgrade. He pointed out that the health system of Serbia has been preserved.

"I think that we managed to save human lives and health, and everything else will be analyzed over time," said Loncar.

When it comes to a second wave of the coronavirus epidemic, the minister says that for now, no one can make predictions with certainty.

If the epidemic occurs, Loncar stresses that the healthcare system of Serbia will be ready for it.

The minister stressed that the pandemic was met in the right way, thanks to investments in the health system during the previous five years. He added that such investments will not stop.

"Now our priority are health workers - doctors, nurses, technicians... We will invest the most in them, their work, their knowledge and training. Secondly, we want to provide them with the best possible working conditions, such as those at the European level. When they are at work, for that to be as it would a serious hospital in Europe. And the third thing - we will invest in new modern equipment, to keep up with the world, and in addition to educate our staff to know how to use that equipment. It will mean nothing to invest in walls and equipment if there is no one to work it," says Loncar.
