Chase, weapons and smoke: Serbian special police in exercise

They need to show how one loves one's country

Deputy Prime Minister of the Republic of Serbia and Interior Minister Nebojsa Stefanovic has told those attending the Center for Basic Police Training that when they join the police in September, Serbia will receive an even stronger bulwark against crime.

Stefanovic was attending exercises by special and specialized units of the Ministry of Interior organized for 537 students of the 23rd and 24th class of the Center for Basic Police Training (COPO) in the Teaching Center in Kula.

"Today, they had the opportunity to see what our special and specialized units do and what it looks like to be a part of the team of the most prepared and capable members of the police. It is also important that our members and those attending the Center always think about further training. We have invested a lot in their uniforms and equipment, but it is important for us to understand that each week of training contributes to more efficient life saving, both their own and of the citizens. That is why it's important to us that members of the police are professional and trained to perform all, even the most complex tasks put before them," said Stefanovic.

After the exercise, Stefanovic talked with the COPO students who will in the fall join their colleagues in protecting the citizens of Serbia.

"It's important to me that they understand that only with hard work they can be responsible, serious and honest police officers, as required by the people of Serbia. I am convinced that they will be able to show how one loves one's country," Stefanovic stressed.
