Serbian Minister of Culture and Information Vladan Vukosavljevic says that passion seems to be suppressing wisdom - when it comes to converting Hagia Sophia into a mosque.

Commenting on Turkey's decision, which he says, enables the conversion of a world cultural heritage site and museums into a mosque - Vukosavljevic's statement sent to the media said that "in this holy place of Christianity, even if it is but a museum, both religions can testify to the splendor of the faith in God."

"If one faith that once conquered this space by force wants to squeeze out and expel the other, then daily politics have defeated the wisdom and teachings of both Jesus and Muhammad. What's left for us to do is to believe in the final and lasting triumph of the light of religious tolerance over the darkness of passions driving daily political interests," Vukosavljevic said.
