Numerous friends, family members and representatives of the federal government gathered in front of the Government of the Federation of BiH in Sarajevo to pay their respects and bid farewell to Federal Minister for Veteran Affairs Salko Bukvarevic, who died yesterday from coronavirus in the Podhrastovi Hospital in Sarajevo, reports Klix.

There was complete silence and disbelief today in front of the building of the Government of the Federation of BiH, after the death of Minister Bukvarevic.

Many of his friends, loved ones, and colleagues from the federal government, including Prime Minister Fadil Novalic, Vice President of the Federation of BiH Melika Mahmutbegovic, Minister of Finance Jelka Milicevic, Minister of Social Affairs and Policy Vesko Drljaca and many others accompanied him in a dignified manner.

A special police unit was lined up on the main road, which welcomed and escorted the body of Minister Bukvarevic with great honors.

A book of condolences was opened in the FBiH Government this morning, while the commemoration for Minister Bukvarevic will be held on Saturday, August 1, at 11 am in the FBiH Parliament building in Sarajevo, and on the same day, starting at 3 pm, at the Bosnian Cultural Center in Tuzla.

On the same day, he will be buried in the cemetery of the Dzindic mosque in Tuzla.

Bukvarevic passed away on July 29 in the Clinic for Lung Diseases Podhrastovi, a part of the Clinical Center of the University of Sarajevo. He was hospitalized about ten days ago after testing positive for coronavirus.

At first he didn't have severe symptoms, but afterwards his condition deteriorated and he was rushed to the hospital. Only a day before the tragic death, the doctors had to connect him to a ventilator.
