Dr. Stevanovic's appeal: Don't try to cure yourself at home, see a doctor, examination is key

He said that it is good that the number of patients in intensive care is decreasing

Between 1,500 and 1,600 examinations are performed daily in Covid and triage clinics in Belgrade, and about 15 to 20 percent of that number are done at the Clinic for Infectious and Tropical Diseases of the KSC, said the director of this health institution, Dr. Goran Stevanovic.

He said that there are still patients in a more serious condition, with a difficult clinical picture, which is the reason for great caution.

Stevanovic warned that patients who had tried to self-medicate at home also go to the doctor, and appealed on all citizens to see a doctor when they have the symptoms, because it is of utmost importance to perform an examination.

He said that it's good that the number of patients in intensive care is decreasing.

"With such results, we must continue to respect the measures, especially when we have open borders in the region, so that we can function in the new reality, establish functioning schools, universities and a healthcare system, especially in the non-Covid portion of it, to serve those patients who had scheduled examinations, diagnostics, procedures," Stevanovic told reporters after a meeting with the minister of health.

For that reason, he once again appealed on everyone to respect the measures, above all to maintain physical distance and wear a mask, because, he says, that is for now effective and proven - until one of the vaccine candidates passes the tests.
