Serbia will produce film, and TV series about the heroes of the Battle of Kosare

"Serbia will have a film and a TV series about the heroes of Kosare, regardless of the fact that the director Balsa Djogo abandoned the film crew. This film does not belong to any director or producer, it belongs to the people of Serbia. Kosare is a public interest that is above the interests of any individual," said Nemanja Micic, the producer of the film "Kosare".

He pointed out that the screenplay for the film was written by Djordje Milosavljevic, according to whose story Balsa Djogo was supposed to direct the film.

"The truth about Kosare is in that script, which Djordje wrote together with veterans and heroes who took part in the war (1999 Kosovo war). That script remains the essence of the film, and that is why the veterans supported our aspirations to continue filming as soon as possible," Micic pointed out and added that it is still being considered who will be the new director of this war spectacle.

"We will announce that name soon and it will be a decision that will be backed by the entire film crew and our veterans," said Micic.

He said that the Serbian Army and numerous state institutions are behind the project of the film about Kosare, which today, unlike some past times, understand how important it is to preserve the memory of the heroic fight of our soldiers against Siptar (Albanian) terrorists and NATO. According to Micic, the Serbian Army and the state stood behind the production company Omega and the screenwriter, Djordje Milosavljevic.

"We received funds from the state approved for the Omega production for the screenplay by Djordje Milosavljevic, and we will jointly complete this project within the deadline we have committed to," said Micic.

He added that the film and the series about Kosare are a memorial to the heroes who gave their lives in the fight to defend Kosovo and Serbia.

"Our sacred mission and our debt to them is to finish this film. That is our main motive, not to make money. That is why we renounced any profit from the film in cinemas, which will be donated in its entirety to the families of the killed and wounded Kosare fighters," said Micic.

"Our soldiers on the border outpost (Kosare) were saying while they were fighting against terrorists and NATO: there is no going back, Serbia is behind us. That is also our motto. This film is a shrine that we are defending together with our veterans. There is no going back," concluded Micic.
