It's safe to drink water from this pristine Serbian lake - but divers extracted 300 kg of waste

Zavoj Lake near Pirot, whose water is safe to drink in some parts, is one of the riches we can be proud of. Unfortunately, some people don't do that, which can be concluded based on the fact that divers recently took out over 300 kilograms of waste from it.

This summer, Zavoj Lake was one of the most visited destinations in the Pirot Ddistrict.

After the season, more than 30 divers had to clean up this beauty of our Serbia.

The lake, which is characterized by transparency and such purity of water that it's safe to drink directly from it, was full of garbage that people threw into it. By the way, Zavoj Lake is considered to be one of the cleanest artificial lakes and everyone should try to keep it that way.

It is located in the south of Serbia and stretches below the Stara Mountain, about 15 kilometers from Pirot.

The lake is about 17 kilometers long, located at an altitude of 612 meters, and covers an area of ​​5.53 square kilometers. The maximum depth of the lake is 60 meters, and the length of the shoreline is about 40 kilometers.

Zavoj Lake offers a number of pleasures to all types of recreational fishers. And not only to fishers, but also to lovers of pure nature and clear mountain water.

What's important for recreational fishers to know is that this is a lake full of different types of fish, and that in some, still untouched, wild parts, mostly facing the mouth of the Visocica River, the water is so clean that it's safe to drink directly from the lake.
