The Serb member of the Presidency of Bosnia and Herzegovina (BiH), Milorad Dodik, says that the messages sent just before entering the White House by the president of Serbia, Aleksandar Vucic, are messages that should be read carefully, and from which it clearly follows that Serbia wants compromise, peace, stability and progress not only within its own country but in the entire region, Tanjug is reporting.

Milorad Dodik also said that the people of the Serb Republic (RS) give unreserved support to Aleksandar Vucic.

"It's normal that in the talks at the White House, he will do everything to protect primarily the Serb people in Kosovo and Metohija, but I am sure that he will not do anything that would harm any other people. In these efforts to preserve peace and security of everyone in Kosovo and Metohija, to preserve the territorial integrity of Serbia and for Serbs and Albanians to open a new chapter in relations, we give him our unreserved support," Dodik stressed.

Dodik assessed that announcements that something other than economic topics - that mean normalization of life in Kosovo - could be on the table, can only complicate the already complex situation, RTRS reports.

"We don't want to believe that a superpower like the United States would allow itself to get into new misunderstandings under the roof of the White House - and such an offer would mean that. We don't want to believe that the United States would sacrifice the stability of the entire region, because they have invested a lot in stabilizing the situation here. A paper asking for  recognition of Kosovo would automatically bring up the issue of the status of the RS, whose independence was discussed by the United States while the 'civil'" war in BiH was ongoing," said Dodik.

Dodik also assessed that the United States is not ready to open another issue in the Balkans two months before the presidential election.
