If a war breaks out or a state of emergency is declared, the Post of Serbia will be ready for it, because a rulebook has just been published, which prescribes how this institution would work under these two circumstance.

This is the Rulebook on special conditions for performing the universal postal service in case of emergency and state of war, the aim of which is to protect the postal network of the public postal operator.

In the event of one of these two problems, the Post Office will work in accordance with the temporarily changed method of receipt, place and deadline for delivery of postal items, as well as with a reduced range of services.

The Rulebook defines opening hours of post office, branches of postal operators and postal centers, organization of reception, processing, transport and delivery of postal items, transfer deadlines...

Therefore, opening hours of post offices that work in two shifts, in case of war or state of emergency, are limited to one shift.

Also, opening hours of post offices that perform work in one shift five days a week are limited to at least two days a week.

Finally, post offices that operate less than five days a week may be temporarily closed during a state of war.
