Minister of Rural Welfare Milan Krkobabic announced today that about 150,000 empty houses in rural areas will be distributed to young married couples through a public invitation.

"We want empty houses in Serbia, 150,000 of them, to go to a public invitation, to enable young married couples to get those houses with yards," Krkobabic told TV Pink.

He stressed that these are the key things that need to be done, as well as that an initiative for handing out free land will be launched soon.

"There is one key thing there, and I think that Minister Nedimovic shares that opinion, and that is that a guarantee fund for one of the strategic agricultural products will be defined soon," Krkobabic explained.

That way, he says, farmers will know why they work.

He stressed that the story with villages is much broader than agriculture itself, since it is also about infrastructure, culture and social events.
