Belgrade will organize four tennis tournaments in both categories this year, said Djordje Djokovic, director of the ATP tournament Serbia Open 2021.

Serbia open 2021, from ATP 250, will be held from April 19 until 25 in Belgrade without the presence of fans and with a limited presence of the media.

Djordje Djokovic pointed out that 12 players from the top 35 in the world will play, among whom are the world's best, Novak Djokovic, Dominic Thiem and Aslan Karatsev, while Stan Wawrinka had to cancel his participation due to injury.

"We have invested great efforts to bring an ATP tournament back to Serbia and organize it at the highest level in accordance with the measures of the Government of Serbia and the ATP. This is just the beginning, our goal is for the tournament to get a Tour 500 license in the coming years. The response of the players is good, considering that another tournament is being played in Barcelona at the same time," Djokovic said during a Zoom press conference and thanked the city and the state for their great assistance.

Djokovic said that a week before the ATP tournament, a challenger will be organized for tennis players, and he confirmed that the capital of Serbia will also host a WTA 250 tournament, which will be taking place from May 16. Belgrade will also organize a women's challenger starting on July 22.

The players will be placed in a "half-balloon," isolated, with regular testing, and the tournament will also have humanitarian significance because each ace will donate a certain sum for humanitarian purposes, through the Novak Djokovic Foundation.
