The moment earthquake hit Sibenik area: Residents go out to the streets after tremor

After a strong M4.7 earthquake which hit the area of ​​Sibenik this morning, no major damage has been reported, the district Center 112 has said.

Surveillance cameras in Sibenik's Brodarica recorded the moment of the earthquake that shook this Croatian area on Tuesday at six in the morning.

"For now, we have no reported significant damages. We have information that in Vrpolje, a piece of rock fell into the yard of a house and hit a car, but no one was injured," the Center 112 said, which received numerous calls this morning, mostly from frightened citizens.

The earthquake had an epicenter 13 kilometers southeast of Sibenik.

The magnitude of the earthquake was 4.7 degrees while the intensity in the epicenter was VI degrees on the EMS scale, the Seismological Service of the Republic of Croatia said.

Residents of Sibenik went out to the streets after the earthquake, but most soon returned to their homes, reports Dnevnik.hr.

According to the report of the users of the European Mediterranean Seismological Center, the earthquake was felt in the area of ​​Zadar and the Sibenik-Knin district.
