We were worried when Eurosport's eminent commentator and former two-time French Open champion, Alex Corretja, said that Novak Djokovic might not play at the Olympic Games in order to preserve his strength for the US Open and thus win the Grand Slam this year. However, the fans of the world's best tennis player do not have to worry, since the Tennis Association of Serbia has denied such information!

"Novak has confirmed his desire to participate in the Olympic Games and we have already sent a list with his name on it to the Olympic Committee of Serbia. It will be forwarded from there," they say in the Tennis Association, as reported exclusively by Sportski Zurnal.

It is clear what Corretja's thinking is based on, the famed tennis player thinks that Novak would be too tired to play both in Tokyo and "across the pond" after Wimbledon. But it was probably not clear to him how much Djokovic cares about winning the gold medal at the world's largest sports festival. In fact, he only lacks that in order to have won literally everything in his career. He wants to hear the Serbian anthem while up on the podium.

The list sent by the Tennis Association of Serbiaalso  includes Miomir Kecmanovic. As for the others, Dusan Lajovic and Filip Krajinovic will not participate, Laslo Djere could have filled that position, but he will not compete under the Serbian flag either.

"The situation is very difficult this year. Coronavirus has made everything as difficult as possible. The bubble in Tokyo will be for about 10,000 people, which will be very complicated and will make it harder for the athletes. It's one thing to be in a bubble in a tournament with a maximum of several hundred participants, and another to be in a crowd of 10,000 people. Besides, there is always the fear of infection," the Tennis Association representatives told Zurnal.
