Not only 3,000 dinars for vaccinated citizens: Serbia considering this financial incentive

Serbia cannot introduce mandatory vaccination because that conflicts with the Constitution, President of Serbia Aleksandar Vucic said today during a visit to the ZF factory in Pancevo.

When asked about this by a journalist, he stated that the appeal on people to get vaccinated remains, but also that Serbia will introduce motivating measures, such as lottery.

"We have entire regions, Tutin, Sjenica, Novi Pazar... like black holes - strange people, I don't know what it's about, or if we didn't do a good job. We will work on introducing lotteries, paying people to get vaccinated," said the president.

He mentioned that it is possible to make appeals and take concrete steps.

One of the measures was a one-time assistance in the amount of 3,000 dinars for citizens who got vaccinated.

Electronic application on pmi.trezor.gov.rs started on June 1, and from June 4, vaccinated citizens were also able to apply for that help by calling 0800 100-302. The call was free.

As the minister of finance said earlier, this measure was not only economic, but should have additionally motivated people to receive the vaccine, for the sake of their health. He said that 2.5 million citizens who were vaccinated by May 31 were entitled to 3,000 dinars, and pointed out that almost everyone who was vaccinated also applied for this type of support.
