Minister of Mining and Energy Zorana Mihajlovic says that Serbia will have the largest gold and copper mine in Southeast Europe, and after Poland, it will be the second largest producer of that precious metal in Europe.

The Cukaru Peki mine will be opened in the fall, and it will be the first green mine in Serbia, thanks to which we will produce 18% of gold in Europe, Mihajlovic told TV Prva.

It will be a green mine, digitized, the minister said and added that thanks to the 21 century technologies, it is now possible to do mining in an environmentally friendly way.

She added that Serbia currently produces five percent of copper in Europe.

When asked if she is the one who will not approve gas connections for those who do not have legalized houses, Mihajlovic said that the director of Srbijagas, when he says that, must know the law is what determines whether someone can get a connection or not.

She said that the law must be taken into account, but that it can be discussed and considered so that those who are in the process of legalization get that opportunity.
