In the past few days, unknown persons in Belgrade have been falsely presented themselves as workers of Belgrade's Vodovod and Kanalizacija (Waterworks and Sewerage), offering Belgraders water filtration devices.

"Citizens are being warned that these vendors are not our employees and that tap water in the capital should not be additionally filtered because it is of good quality," the company announced.

Citizens can distinguish fraudsters from the real JKP Vodovod public company in Belgrade by the fact that the latter must show their official ID during each visit to consumers - Vodovod's Jelena Pronic has confirmed.

"Water from the city water supply system is safe, of good mineral composition and can be consumed without restriction for drinking, preparing food and maintaining personal hygiene," said the company.
