West Ham fans arrived in Zagreb, Croatia to support their club in the opening game of the Europa League group stage against Dinamo, however, as many as six of them got detained because they inflicted serious injuries on one Dinamo fan, reports the Croatian portal Jutarnji.

Dinamo supporters are known for frequent clashes and fights, something that was on display before the game against the Polish Legia, when they "set fire" to a part of the Croatian capital.

On the other hand, English footballing culture is known for its fan groups, where West Ham's is one of the most well known in that country, and therefore it is not surprising that things turned out the way they did last night.

According to the police in Zagreb, the clash happened in a cafe, where it all started with provocations, and soon bottles, chairs and mugs started flying in all directions.

A police statement also said that a 26-year-old from Zagreb had to be rushed to the hospital, where doctors determined that he had serious injuries, while his friend (21) was not hurt.

It is also stated that as many as six British citizens were detained and taken to a police station in Zagreb.

What a "great" introduction to the match between these two sides, which will be played later today, starting at 6:45 pm.
