Covid pass to be needed to enter cafes and restaurants after 10pm, here's what the certificate means

So far, about 15% of the population has received the third dose of the coronavirus vaccine

After today's meeting of the Crisis HQ, its members started giving statements to the media, and Prime Minister of Serbia Ana Brnabic said that shopping centers, stores and public transport are controlled the most when it comes to mask wearing.

Legal entities and coronavirus stewards are getting fined, as inspectors visit these facilities throughout the day.

The decision of the HQ is to introduce the Covid pass for all hospitality facilities starting this Saturday, October 23, at 10 pm. So, after 10 pm, citizens will not be able to stay in a closed space of this type without a valid pass.

Inspectors are ready, says Brnabic, as well as the communal police, when it comes to checking Covid passes. The communal police will control all inspections.

Covid passes are not just about vaccination - the prime minister added, and noted that a valid certificate is a confirmation of receiving the second dose (no longer than 7 months must have passed since then) or the third dose of the vaccine. Alternatively a negative PCR test, not older than 72 hours, is mandatory if you want to sit indoors after 10 pm.

An antigen test must not be older than 48 hours.

Covid stewards or inspectors or communal police officer will scan the QR code at the entrance, and check if the pass is valid: it can be in digital or paper form.

When it comes to weddings and similar gatherings, the prime minister noted that Covid passes are not the only measure and that "there are masks for indoors when you can't keep distance." She said that the most important measure is certainly vaccination.

"If you want t have an outdoor wedding, you don't need Covid passes. Also, if you want a celebration in a restaurant, which lasts until 10 pm, you don't have to have the passes. Not all guests who come need to be vaccinated, but they must be tested in that case," added Ana Brnabic.

She remarked that not even the medical part of the Crisis HQ is in agreement about a possible complete lockdown.

The prime minister says that the period after 10 pm has been taken into consideration, because there is a greater chance of people getting infected after that time, when establishments start with the music, etc.
