Drone footage shows the extent of disaster in Bosnia: Everything is submerged in water

Oxygen bottles were lifted onto crates so as not to be destroyed, and workers then took them out, to save what could be saved

Horrific floods that hit Bosnia and Herzegovina (BiH) in recent days have caused great material damage. On Friday, and throughout the weekend, distressing videos and photos were arriving showing destroyed buildings, flooded streets and people evacuated in boats.

Aerial footage showing Messer, the only supplier of medical oxygen in BiH, also testifies to the proportions of this natural disaster.

On Friday the building was completely flooded when a river broke its banks.

Drone footage shows buildings surrounded by water, while workers spent the entire weekend trying to pump it out and clean up the mud from the flooding.

Oxygen bottles were lifted onto crates so as not to be destroyed, and workers then took them out, to save what could be saved.

The consumption of medical oxygen has increased recently due to the coronavirus pandemic, i.e. the fact that many patients need breathing support.

Messer said on Friday that the bottling plant has been completely flooded, and that they were looking for locations that could meet their demands.

"We will write a letter asking to be given a temporary permit for filling bottles at two locations in Zenica and Mostar, until we bring our filling station back to a normal state," said Messer's director, Avdo Dedic.
