Prime Minister of the Provisional Institutions in Pristina Albin Kurti said today in the Albanian city of Elbasan that his statements about national unification of Albanians and a referendum on that issue have been misinterpreted.

During a press conference after a joint session of the governments of Pristina and Tirana, Kurti said that national unification is not something that is resolved, but something that chooses, reports Lajmi.

According to him, leaders cannot decide on historical processes, nor determine "dates and ways."

"It seems to me that there was a misunderstanding of the issue of unification of Albanians. It is not the thing that we choose, but the intention that chooses us," said Kurti.
