Two Bulgarian military planes landed at Skopje International Airport today, carrying the remains of 45 people killed in a traffic accident ten days ago near the town of Pernik.

Wreaths were laid on Skanderbeg Square, and it is expected that the remains of those killed in the bus accident will be brought soon, Macedonian Telma TV reports.

Citizens will be able to pay respects to the victims on the square.

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of North Macedonia previously announced that, at the request of the families of the victims, the procession that was supposed to pass through Skopje got canceled.

The accident, in which 45 citizens of North Macedonia were killed, happened on November 23 near the town of Pernik in Bulgaria, when a bus with North Macedonian license plates caught on fire.
