Belgrade mural dedicated to Ratko Mladic was briefly painted over, group of young men cleaned it

The white paint painted over the mural depicting Ratko Mladic in Njegoseva Street in Belgrade was removed this morning by a group of young men.

Earlier, the City Municipality of Vracar officially announced that the mural had been painted over.

"We are informing the public that the pictorial graffiti on a building in Njegoseva Street has been removed. The Department for Inspection Affairs of the City Municipality of Vracar stated today that the decision to remove the pictorial graffiti from the front part of the facade of this building was made on September 20," a statement said.

According to the statement, in line with the decision on communal order, the tenants of the housing communities in Njegoseva No. 38 and 38b were ordered to remove the mural.

The procedure was carried out, the statement continued, based on reports of journalist Antonela Riha, Naim Leo Besiri from the Institute for European Affairs, and Tamara Tripic from the Network for Democratic Dialogue.

The tenants of the residential building where the graffiti is located asked for help in its removal, so ,easires were takeb to remove the graffiti, said the announcement.
