President of the Republic of Serbia Aleksandar Vucic met today with the Serb member of the Presidency of Bosnia and Herzegovina, Milorad Dodik. The two interlocutors assessed that peace and stability are of key importance for the entire region.

Dodik stressed that an unprecedented political and media campaign has been launched against the Serb Republic (RS) and the Serb people in BiH (Bosnia and Herzegovina), not only in Sarajevo, but also in numerous Western centers of power, the Serbian president's media office announced.

As an example, Milorad Dodik mentioned the celebration of Serb Republic Day and the most brutal insults that followed from Sarajevo and from the mouths of many Western politicians, which presented an ordinary event attended by regular and legal police forces of the Serb Republic as a threat to peace, while the real threat to peace by a Muslim paramilitary unit, the Green Berets, and their gathering in Sarajevo and Buzim, was not even mentioned.

Dodik stressed that it is almost impossible for the Serb people to fight for justice and consistent implementation of the Dayton Agreement due to the unilateral and biased approach, primarily of the United States of America.

President Vucic assessed that US sanctions against Milorad Dodik and other officials of the Serb Republic are a terrible precedent, and can only bring catastrophic consequences for the development of relations between the three nations and two entities in BiH and beyond, in the entire region.

"Sanctions have always brought only problems, and never solutions," added President Vucic.

Bearing in mind the difficulty of the position of the entire Serb people, and especially the inappropriate and unjust pressure against the Serb Republic and its leadership, President Vucic asked Dodik and all political forces in the Serb Republic to participate in the work of joint institutions in BiH in order protect the interests of the Serb people and RS in the best way.

President Vucic stressed that every decision is up to the RS leadership, but that he also asks President Dodik and all political representatives in the RS to consider his proposal, because it is clear that some political factors that substantially threaten the stability of the entire region with untruths and insinuations, are trying to switch the blame to the Serb people and the RS.

"My plea to President Dodik and all political factors in the RS is not a demand to agree to anything, or to vote for anything, on the contrary, my plea is that the places at the table where RS representatives should sit should not be empty and that they should fight in the best possible way for for the interests of the entity and the Serb people," Vucic emphasized.

President Vucic offered to explain his proposal to President Dodik and all institutions and political representatives in Banja Luka.

President Vucic and President Dodik also discussed the fact that the Republic of Serbia is preparing significant financial support for the Serb Republic, and that the teams of the two presidents and the two governments will speed up talks and inform the public as soon as possible.

Vucic and Dodik also agreed to hold a Grand Assembly of the Republic of Serbia and the Serb Republic, including a joint session of the two governments, on January 27, when strategic economic projects and further improvement of cooperation in all areas between the Republic of Serbia and the Serb Republic will be decided on.
