As many as 97 primary and secondary Belgrade schools received reports of bombs planted at their premises this morning. The principal of the Elementary School Dragan Lukic in Bezanijska Kosa in Belgrade, Olja Corovic, told Telegraf.rs that the email with the warning arrived at 5.15 am.

"A message arrived at the school email account at 5.15 and since I have a sound notification, I read it. It was very unusual and nothing in the text indicates a bomb tip-off, except the subject line of the email that mentions a large amount of explosives being placed on the school premises," says principal Corovic.

She read to us the email that has the subject line, "A huge amount of explosives has been placed in the territory of the school":

"A strange feeling of calm, as if we are waiting for a normal day, the same routine as always. We hate ourselves, but we want to hurt everyone who gets in our way. The feeling that everything around us is just a dream doesn't leave us. We see no reason to write anything else. In the end, we can say that we are not the first and far from the last," the message reads.

"So, very unusual. and then I paid attention to the subject line," said Corovic.

The principal then called the police.

"I informed them about everything. I was told to wait for their teams to arrive, not to enter the school. Then I called the head of the school administration and the assistant minister for primary education. We were instructed to wait in the yard until the police teams check the school and determine that it is safe," Olja Corovic explains for Telegraf.rs.

When a Telegraf.rs crew was at this school this morning, the police bomb squad was yet to arrive, and the children were in the school yard.

"The children are in the yard until the team gets here. They (the police) were in the school in Ledine, everything was fine there and the children returned to classes. In New Belgrade alone there are 12 schools that also received the message, so we are waiting for our turn (for the police to arrive)," said our interlocutor.
