Mining and Energy Minister Zorana Mihajlovic said on Tuesday in Sarajevo that Minister Aleksandar Vulin's statement on uniting all Serbs into one state is not the official position of the Government of Serbia, and Vulin responded to that by saying that embassies do not determine his beliefs.

Interior Minister Aleksandar Vulin previously told Politika that the only way for the Balkans to remain stable is for the Serbs to live in one state.

"That statement is not the official policy of the Government of Serbia, regardless of the fact that the Government is in a technical mandate. As a citizen, he has the right to express all his wishes, aspirations and dreams, but this is not the official position of the Government of Serbia," Mihajlovic told reporters after the Energy Community Forum on Just Transition, reported FoNet.

Zorana Mihajlovic stressed that it is time for politicians in the region to realize that it is necessary not to dwell on the past, but to work on joint projects that will improve the economy and bring a better standard of living, the Ministry announced.

Vulin replied to Mihajlovic by saying that the creation of the Serbian world and unification of the Serbs is not the official position of the Government of Serbia, just as it is not the official position of the Government of Serbia that sanctions should be imposed against Russia, that one should be clearer, whatever that means, on the issue of the conflict in Ukraine, or that the British resolution according to which the Serbs are a genocidal nation should be supported.

"The creation of the Serbian world is my position and part of the program of the Movement of Socialists that I lead. Unlike many politicians, and among them are some members of the Government of Serbia, I have my ideology, beliefs and stances, and I don't need any embassy to approve what I think and what I should do," said Vulin.
