Serbia and Serb Republic celebrate Day of Serb Unity, Freedom and the National Flag

Today, Serbia and the Serb Republic (Republika Srpska, RS) celebrate a joint holiday - Day of Serb Unity, Freedom and the National Flag.

The central event on the occasion of Day of Serb Unity, Freedom and the National Flag, which will be attended by top officials from the RS and President of Serbia Aleksandar Vucic will be held today in Bijeljina.

The ceremony starts at 11 am, and before that, the official start of construction of the Raca-Bijeljina highway will be marked in Velika Obarska.

September 15 was chosen as Day of Serb Unity, Freedom and the National Flag, because the breakthrough of the Salonica Front was achieved on that day in 1918.

This holiday was celebrated for the first time last year on Sava Square in Belgrade, near the monument to Grand Prince Stefan Nemanja.
