Minister of Foreign Affairs Nikola Selakovic has said that Serbia cannot accept the results of referendums being held in several Ukrainian regions because that would be completely contrary to our state and national interests.

Asked by Tanjug during a press conference whether Serbia will accept the results of the referendums in the Ukrainian regions, Selakovic said that in accordance with the UN Charter and generally accepted principles and norms of international public law, Serbia cannot accept those results.

"On the one hand is our principled commitment to the principles and rules of international public law, the UN Charter, and on the other hand, it would be completely contrary to our state and national interests, completely contrary to our policy of preserving (our) territorial integrity and sovereignty, and the commitment to the principle of inviolability of borders," said Selakovic.
