In addition to Mt. Kopaonik and Stara Planina, Serbian tourists often choose Zlatibor for vacation or a weekend getaway.

This mountain in Serbia has a lot to offer its guests - from numerous tourist facilities, beautiful nature, to locations in the surroundings that make for very attractive day trips.

If you want to get to know the "golden mountain" better, we suggest that while in this part of Serbia, you must not miss the chance to visit Gostilje waterfall, Stopica Cave and the largest open-air museum - Staro Selo Sirogojno.

1. Gostilje waterfall

One of the most attractive hydrological treasures of this mountain is located 25 kilometers from the center of Zlatibor. The beautiful Gostilje waterfall descends from a 20-meter-high limestone cliff, and downstream you will come across smaller waterfalls and cascades that create a fairytale-like ambiance.

2. Stopica Cave

A little closer to the center of Zlatibor, 19 kilometers from the well-known lake, is the Stopica Cave, on the left bank of the Pristavica River.

Initial speleological investigations of this natural gem made up of five parts were carried out by the great Serbian scientist Jovan Cvijic.

The entrance to the Stopica Cave is 18 meters tall and 35 meters wide, and the cave is attractive not only because of the incredible openings in the ceiling and large baths, but also because of an underground waterfall, symbolically called the Source of Life.

At the same time, Stopica has for years been the most visited cave in Serbia.

3. Staro Selo Sirogojno

This village near Zlatibor became famous all over the world because of the hand-made sweaters knitted by local women. What additionally attracts tourists to the Staro Selo Museum is a display of traditional Zlatibor homes dating back to the 19th and 20th centuries.

The church of the Holy Apostles Peter and Paul is part of this open-air museum exhibition.
