The police identified the victims as the spouses Miloje (85) and Milena (77) Markovic, according to US media.
The two lived in Niles.
It is not yet known what caused the couple to drive their car into the house.
The police said no one was home at the time of the crash. However, neighbors described the accident to ABC7 as being like a scene from a movie.
It happened on Tuesday a little after 11 o'clock.
Miloje and Milena were in a Honda when, for unknown reasons, they crashed into the house.
Eyewitnesses told the police the driver continued through an intersection and crashed into the house.
A neighbor who was at home described the chaos he saw.
"It was very traumatizing and scary. The craziest thing I've ever seen in my life," said a neighbor identified as Daniel.
