Police issue statement regarding horrific case of violence in Zvezdara: Man was abusing 3 members of family

Members of the Ministry of Internal Affairs in Belgrade, in Zvezdara, in cooperation with the First Basic Public Prosecutor's Office, have arrested D.A. (65) due to suspicion that he committed the crime of domestic violence.

He is suspected of physically assaulting his daughter, son-in-law and granddaughter on November 20, after a verbal argument.

It was reported at the time that he was drunk when he allegedly bit his daughter and son-in-law, and also struck the woman in the face and neck, while he struck the child in the head and kicked her in the stomach.

The suspect was detained for up to 48 hours, after which he will be brought before the competent prosecutor's office with a criminal report.

The Ministry of the Interior (MUP) urges citizens to report any form of domestic violence to the police by calling 0800 100 600 or 192 free of charge, and notes that these lines are active at all times.
