"The citizens made the biggest sacrifice", said the Prime Minister while addressing the residents after the academy dedicated to the Day of Statehood.

For easy measures you only need an irresponsible government, he said.

"Everybody can make promises and brings easy measures just to face the defeat in a year. Today, after hard and difficult measures, Serbia is different and responsible, and all citizens know what we have been through" said Vučić.

He added that he knows people lead a difficult life, that the unemployment rate is still high, but he reminded that a couple of years before it was 26%, whereas now is 18%.

"We knew when to let go, when to cut is tight, and everything we managed was because we were united" said Vučić and he asked the citizens to continue to be united and to preserve the state Karadjordje and Miloš had created.

He said that the tycoons are no longer calling the shots, even though they are still present in the local authorities, but they are not running banks and state politics.

In the last 2 years, we managed to save the country from bankruptcy.

He reminded that the Srebrenica resolution in the UN was not accepted, and that Kosovo failed to join the UNESCO.

"I have not begged no one 2 years ago, I will not do it today; I only ask of you to be patient and we should work together, because nothing will just fall from the sky to our laps", said Vučić.
