Tsipras: Serbia has a key role on wider Balkans

Serbian Prime Minister Aleksandar Vucic will be host to the president of Greek government Alexis Tsipras during his visit to Serbia on 31st January and 1st February

Greek Prime Minister Alexis Tsipras said that Serbia has a key role in wider Balkan region and it would desirable, first of all, for the stability and development of Balkans, for Serbia to become full member of European family. Tsipras said for the daily "Politika" that Greece advocates and that it will continue to actively support Serbia on its way towards European Union, marking that it will be the step of mutual usefulness.

He said that during his visit to Belgrade, he will speak with the Serbian officials about the strengthening of bilateral and economic cooperation between two countries.

Tsipras said that Serbian-Greek business forum will be organized during his visit and more than 790 Greek companies will participate.

- Also, we indent to strengthen the cooperation in the sphere of transport, total infrastructure... We want to put special emphasis on the railroad connection between Piraeus and Belgrade we plan to realize within Chinese plan "One belt, one way" - said Tsipras.

As he added, the cooperation within culture and tourism will be continued, and cooperation in safety area is of great importance and it should be improved even more.
